The Beginning

Every stud has to start somewhere, and for me it was with the purchase of MONATE the 3 yr old mare by Monopol (imp.) in 1980 out of a New Zealand Thoroughbred mare. I was in Queensland at the time.

Monate was the first horse I ever owned, after 14 years working with horses in Europe, South Africa and Australia.

In 1984 FUERSTIN FAUSTINA (by Falkland imp.) was born and from her a true dynasty began. Faustina had 5 fillies and 2 colts before her untimely death in 1999 with the birth of her last colt Rebellion. Her daughters are either broodmares or in the sport and her son FUERST FIGARO is a licensed stallion with ISSA. Faustina passed on her temperament, trainability and fertility.

1991 FUERSTIN FREDERICKA by Sagamore Furisto imp. Hanovarian. ‘Fredie’ produced several sport horses by Wolf, Graf Landau, Weltrum, all pleasant trainable horses of nice types. Her son ‘Glendale Winston’ (Wolf) with Diane Meney competes in Prelim/Novice dressage, with high percentages (over 65%).

1992 FUERSTIN FINETTE Sagamore Furisto imp. Broodmare at Wyunga Stud, Noblewood Stud and now with Liz Tollarzo. She produced offspring by Barrabadeen Fortune, Jadalco imp. and Collins imp.

1994 FUERSTIN FINESSE by Barrabadeen Fortune exp. USA. Finesse is retained at DvZ stud and todate produced 3 fillies and a colt all via frozen AI with the VDL stallions (Dutch) Rebel I Z (fullbrother Ratina Z), LaRoche (champion showjumper), Indoctro (stallion producer and jumping horses) and Goodtimes – jumpers and dressage horses. Finesse is a fantastic mother with a super temperament which she passes to all her offspring.

1995 FUERSTIN FLEUR fullsister to Finesse and owned as a broodmare by Wyunga Stud in Moora. In 2002 she expects her first foal to Belcam Clinton.

1996 FUERST FIGARO by BWS Figaro imp. Dutch (via chilled AI). This tall brown/black stallion was at the AEA –Burong in Victoria for close to 2 yrs, but is now trained and performed by Kate Pither of Oakdale Farms in Perth.

1997 FUERSTIN FLORENCE by Flemmingh (Frozen AI). Florence is owned by Louise Page who says of her: “Florence is a truly international horse, with the best temperament and the most amazing paces.”

1999 FUERST REBELLION by Rebel I Z (frozen AI) Rebel I Z is bred by Zangersheide stud and is the fullbrother of the ’mare of the Century’ Ratina Z (Ramiro x Almé). Rebellion is hand reared and shows super jumping talent.

24 hours after giving birth to Rebellion, Faustina died of internal bleeding…. A great loss to us, but she lives on via her fabulous children and grand children.
