Tim
and Sue Ellis own and operate Remba Park Riding School situated 6km from the south
end of the Kwinana Freeway in Baldivis.
Our aim at Remba Park is to build
a solid foundation of the basics of riding. Educating the rider in ability and
knowledge of riding and horsemanship skills that will enable them to continue
into competition riding if desired. Remba Park encourages learning the importance
of how to manage and care for a horse through practical instruction and written
theory lessons. Due to being situated on a rural setting, 30 mins South of Perth,
Remba Park prides itself in the knowledge, that they provide the highest standard
of teaching for one of the cheapest registered riding school rates in the state
with lessons starting in the school at $55.00 for one hour.
Sue Ellis has gathered
her knowledge and experiences of her riding career and structured it into sixty
written lesson plans in six volumes, to guide the instructors in the stages of
teaching a rider at Remba Park. All of our lessons are in ten-week blocks, which
start at the very basics of learning to ride up to the higher levels of learning
about collection and lateral work. Our lessons are placed so that the rider can
be assessed on how they are interpreting the instructions that are given by the
instructors to govern their progress. A written report is given at the end of
each term so that the rider and the parent can monitor the progress throughout
the term.
Remba Park is set on a rural property that has clean, neat
and practical facilities. All the instructors have teaching qualifications, Senior
First Aid certificates,
working with children clearances and are riders themselves. We provide a friendly, experienced
and professional service to our clients.
Some of our school horses are our
retired competition horses ranging from Open Intermediate eventers, to official
saddle horses and ponies to retired dressage horses. Our school horses are well
mannered and educated and provide a safe ride for the very basic beginner and
a balanced, schooled mount for the competition rider.
Sue Ellis is a
