Mav is a 16.2 gelding who is thoroughbred by breeding but not TB by nature! The absolute sweetest gelding who trys his absolute heart out and just wants to please.
Mav has loads of experience under his belt, having competed at 105 eventing with his previous owner and 95 with me and is an absolute gun and bold on XC. He’ll take you around the course positively and without hesitation!
He is schooled to Elementary dressage with some Medium movements. His paces are expressive, balanced and symmetrical and definitely not your average TB paces!
Hot isn’t even in his vocabulary. He can be pulled out of the paddock (when I say pulled I mean he meets you at the gate) after 5 weeks, and ridden with no down work required and not a foot wrong.
Safe definitely is though! I trusted this horse enough to jump on him 3 weeks after rupturing a ligament in my knee and 6 weeks after the surgery to reconstruct that, and we were back out competing at 4 months post surgery.
He’s been taken out on trails by himself and stays a cool cat, and is exactly the same horse at competitions that he is at home.
A dream to catch, shoe, bodywork, clip, float and all the other bits and bobs that come with horses.
He has no vices that I’ve ever found and anyone that works with or around him loves him.
Mav has decided to start to tell me that he doesn’t want to high level event any more and around 80cm and dressage are much more his style now. He would be the dream horse for an Adult Rider coming back into riding or a first horse for a Pony Clubber coming off their pony.
I have never had a beginner rider on him so can not safely say that he would or would not suit a beginner.
At 16.2 and me 5’3″, he is sensitive, willing and listens to all my aids and does not ride like a big horse at all!
This is an extremely sad sale of a beloved horse, one that I would definitely call a horse of a life time, and that I would keep for his nature alone if I had the property.
No leases or trials, however he is welcome to be ridden at his agistment centre as much as needed pre-sale. He will only be sold to the best of homes.
Price is negotiable, home is not.
