Wesley is a 15.2hh 12yr old TB chestnut roan. He is a sweet little man who is very easy to have around. He floats, leads, ties up, clipping etc all very well. He can be funny to catch somedays but most days will catch you.
He has had quiet a few bad homes in his past so needs someone to trust and build his confidence.
He has really come out of his shell now and is a very playful little man!
To ride at home he is lovely if not a little lazy. Someone along the line has put some work into him and with a forward soft rider he has some amazing paces. Walk, trot, extended trot and canter are all soft and collected. He could do with some more work on his balance in canter. Transitions are lovely and smooth if asked softly.
I have jumped him to about 90cm and he happily went over everything I asked.
He is great out on the trail alone or in a group. Not spooky and good with traffic, Roos, motorbikes etc.
He does get upset if left alone in the paddock but is good if he is the one taken away. He tends to run the fence if left alone.
If he gets stressed and becomes agitated and will jig jog and go sideways. He has never done anything nasty but just can’t keep his feet still.
I have found calm reassurance helps him to settle. For this reason he would need someone kind and patient that is willing to build the trust he needs to give him confidence.
He did a tendon as a race horse possibly 4+ years ago. He was scanned when recovered and passed. I have also had the leg rescanned to double check and got the all clear. I’ve had no issues with soundness.
I am looking for a forever home for this boy as he has been through so many bad places!
Happy to provide videos of him when agitated (jigjogging) and ridden videos.
No beginners or nervous riders please.
UPDATE 29/8/17 taken to a differnt clubs adult riders day at a new grounds which he was perfectly well behaved. No jig jogging but a little keen in the show jumping.
23/2/18 Wes has been on spell since Nov. I dragged him out to a breed show. He was perfetly well behaved and got some lovely remarks about his type from the judge.
