Hotham Valley – 6yr old Event Horse

$6,000

Description

Hotham Valley (Hoth) is a 6yr old OTTB by Playing God.
I bought Hotham when he retired from racing in December 2020. After a let down, he was brought into work for re-education for the purpose of eventing mid 2021. Hotham is a very cool, calm and collected ride, quick thinking and forgiving. He can go for a gallop and then casually walk home on the buckle. He has been ridden on trail rides by non-horsey friends and a 12yr old junior under supervision without any problem. He is happy to pony/be ponied out on rides as well. This attitude would make him suited to a variety of riders and disciplines.
Hoth has been to a handful of events including Murray eventing last month. As I was unable to ride, a friend rode him (who had only ridden him once before the event) and he went around very sweetly.
Hotham also placed third in his first 80cm eventing start at Avon PC ODE last weekend, not accruing any jump penalties for the weekend and being super easy and rideable to pilot around on course.
Being an OTTB, he can have little moments of tension, is still developing on the flat and gaining post racing condition. Despite these things, he has 3 flash paces (particularly a great canter). He is still learning where his feet go over a fence but has demonstrated some flashy and quick footwork so far and shows scope and boldness for the higher levels.
Hotham is only offered for sale due to me taking on a schoolmaster to show me the ropes at the higher levels. Unfortunately I need to move one of the young horses on to allow me the time and funds to support this goal.
*His price will increase with ongoing education and event exposure*
*Please text with any enquiries and I will get back to you as soon as possible*
