Santana King aka Louie
8year old OTT tb
16’1 solid and square. Bay no white
I have owned Louie for 3 years, in that time he has proven to be a kind, willing and snuggly! Though I will say, he is not without his moments and is not a beginners horse. He is good to float, shoe and medicate. He currently has all 4 feet shod but may not need this in softer ground. He is a good doer and loves his food, he is currently only fed hay. He is respectful of fences, does not windsuck and has had his teeth, drench and tetanus/strangles done June this year.
Louie and I have done everything from beach, river, bush rides in company and alone to clinics, ARC and ODEs. He definitely has more woah than go but can give the occasional pig root/head toss. I’ve found louie takes confidence from his rider and when given his job, performs willingly. I have competed E grade in ODEs and trained SJ to about 65cm, this is certainly due to my own experience level and not louies capacity. Louie had 6 weeks training with Primrose Court Stud when I first got him to really cement his basics. Nothing phases louie with exposure to dogs, motorbikes, roads, chickens, kangaroos, trains. He rarely looks at sj fill or xc jumps. I have done some lunging with louie and he has decent voice command but tends to be lazy about this work.
Louie does have a little separation anxiety which can make him tense in warm up arenas or when his paddock mates are taken away but once given a task he easily moves beyond this. I regularly ride alone, away from others or have others ride away from me with no problems. Louie stands happily at the float with his hay at competitions. I am hoping louie will go to someone who will continue riding and enjoying him as he has lots to give! I am asking $3000 but price negotiable to the right home
