Poppy is a 13 year old Paint mare by Double Fax. Her dam was a thoroughbred.

I have had Poppy for 4 years now. I purchased her with the hope of doing camp drafting and team penning with her, but with 3 children competing on their own horses, it leaves me little time to ride Poppy. 

I have done some rodeo/ roping clinics and team penning with her which she did well at, ropes etc don’t bother her and I have also done one barrel racing event, she does not have the speed for barrel racing.

With her previous owner she has done some games.

Most recently I have used her for trail / farm rides with my children. She enjoys being ridden on a relaxed loose rein and she does not like horses behind her, she will kick.

I unfortunately don’t have the time for Poppy and she is being wasted sitting in the paddock. I have had many comments when I have taken her to events as she is a very pretty, well built mare. With more time put into her she would be great at team penning I believe or something similar, I have been told she is a ‘cow horse’.

I have never had her measured but I believe her too be around 15hh to 15.1hh.

She’s up to date with worming, teeth etc. She is good to float and trim.  She is currently in winter paddock condition.
