It is with a very heavy heart that i sell my beloved first pony custard, through no fault of his own but i have sadly outgrown him and moved onto a bigger horse. If we could keep him we most definitely would!
For the past 3 years custard has taken me from an inexperienced rider to a confident, knowledgable rider successfully competing and placing in most outings.
He was originally bought as a dressage pony however in the time that i have owned him we have dabbled in everything including eventing, showjumping, show horse, PC, interschools, trail riding and tetrathlon.
He has evented successfully up to 80cm and has been competing successfully at a dressage novice level. Movements such as shoulder in, leg yeild, counter canter, canter-walk-canter transitions etc are all well established. He works beautifully on the flat in a snaffle bridle and everywhere we go he has been complimented on his beautiful movement and stunning presence.
Showjumping, however is where this horse really excells. He has a beautiful, large, scopey jump and look at me presence. In the last year we have successfully been competng up to 90cm-105cm with numerous placings at Taminga, WASJA, PC and EA state showjumping champs. He also receives high praise from coaches and judges and he attends regular lessons with Philippa Collier.
Custard has a beautiful temperament and is extremely food orientated typical of a pony. He has no vices, up to date with teeth, worming, drenching, vaccinations and shoeing. He is an extremely easy horse to feed and his coat remains in beautiful condition all year. He is easy to catch, float, plait, and stand tied up all day. He is fine with or without company. He does not get hot or fizzy and is fine with other horses out and about, in lessons and warmups. He is your typical sturdy pony, we have not had any health problems or injuries with him for our duration of ownership, and he has no known past injuries or illnesses.
This is a very regretful sale of a beautiful once in a lifetime opportunity pony. A loving home where he is able to reach his full potential and educate other upcoming junior riders is a must. He is also suitable for an adult rider who wants a safe, reliable mount.
