RJ has been part of the family for 8 of his 9 years; coming over as a yearling colt, from NSW. He was to be a future breeding stallion, but it wasn’t to be as he decided he didn’t like the girls! He was gelded in June 2020 and started under saddle by Sam Caporn in January 2021.
He has been ridden at home and PC sporadically (mostly as the back up horse) by all the young riders in the family including a 4yo girl, on leadline. However, he now needs to find his own special person to bond with. Ideally, this person is competent, capable and able to support him through his green moments. Someone who loves and is experienced with Arabs, would be also be beneficial. RJ is not naughty or flighty in any way (that’s too much hard work!), however, he is still inexperienced. With his stocky body, tremendous bone and enormous feet, he would be perfect for the short/heavier rider.
RJ is good to catch, lead, tie, rug and worm. He travels well in the float, but likes to take his time loading (doesn’t like to be hurried)… but will load promptly with a bribery of food. He paddocks alone or company -perfect in the company on mares, can be bossy with other geldings.
