Mintie race name: Hidayah (don’t ask me to pronounce it)
She was bred by my neighbor and I new her as a foal and young horse. Because of this I know her full racing history and know that she did not have any major injuries on the track. She trialed twice as a 4/5yo as she was prepped multiple times but deemed to be growing to much to put into full race prep and then found to be too slow (in other words a TB that was actually started relatively slowly). I also have her dam on property along with a half sister from a WB that can be viewed .
She retired sound from racing around 6 months ago and had 5 months let down. and I have since had her in work for the last few weeks.
Under saddle she has being surprisingly easy quickly establishing a soft reasonably consistent outline at walk, trot and canter. She has started leg yield at walk and trot and comes of the leg well. There does not appear to be any buck/rear/ bolt or other vices on the ground or under saddle other than being a little head shy. She has just started jumping and is jumping around 70 easily and comfortably. I obviously haven’t pushed her much over jumps but she is figuring out what to do with them quickly and seems to have a reasonably quick front end.
She has a lovely free floating trot and a smooth easy canter. I think she could possibly do well as a straight dressage horse as well as having potential as an eventer or as a low level official show jumper.
Mintie will be going to Magret River showjumping in the 60 and 70cm which will be her first show.
Reason for sale is that I already have my team of horses and don’t have time for more when semester two starts at university. If she does not sell before Uni goes back she will be withdrawn from the market until summer when I will continue to work on her and then re-advertise her.
