Apollo was purchased roughly 1 year ago as an unbroken 2 year old as my then 8 year old daughter convinced us she could break in a pony.
I found the pony that seemed to have a sweet nature and a genuine love of children. With the help of her riding coach on the ground my daughter was the one that got on his back and did all the ridden work, he has only ever been ridden by my daughter and gives her little brother the odd pony ride. It didn’t take long at all before she was trotting and cantering around.
Over the summer he was ridden most days and progressed very well. He has not been in full work since then but every few weeks she drags him out of the paddock and can tack him up herself and gets straight on without lunging or needed the round yard.
Apollo loves children, he is the sweetest little man and loves attention. Apollo is easy to wash, float and good for the farrier. Apollo can be lazy if you let him so needs someone to keep him lovely and forward.
Apollo will make a fabulous kids pony. He will need an experienced parent to guide the child as he is still only three and hasn’t been out and about. We would have taken him to pony club but he is still to young. If we still have him in 2020 my daughter will take him to a few rallies and start entering a few dressage and show jumping comps on him.
This pony will make a very genuine first ridden in the future.
School holidays are approaching and Apollo will be in daily work then as my daughter will have more time for all her ponies.
