The Mindful Rider
Ann Montgomery is a level 2 Ride with Your Mind certified coach and a previous Level 2 EA coach as well as a Neuro-Linguistic Programing practitioner.
With a focus on feel the ‘Ride with Your Mind’ process employs the use of visual aids in addition to traditional coaching methods to assist the rider in making connections between the body and mind. There is a focus on the improvement of self-awareness and concentration to produce immediate improvements in horse and rider communication. The Ride with Your Mind process also employs Neuro-Linguistic Programing techniques which assist in the recognition of mental and physical ‘blocks’ in order to overcome them and create new metal processes which foster confidence and motivation. Together these techniques produce a rounded approach to coaching targeting both the mental and physical aspects of riding.
Ann Montgomery successfully competed up to Elementary-Medium level and was a qualified and practicing Dressage D Level judge for 18 years. In 2013 Ann became involved in the ‘Ride with Your Mind’ process and in-cooperated it into her coaching practices and in 2014 became a qualified instructor in the process. Ann has been invited to teach across Western Australia, Queensland, the Northern Territory and New Zealand.
