Billy is a 15.2hh, 8-year-old, bay thoroughbred. Billy has been with our family since he was 4, soon after he finished his short racing career. In the time, I have had Billy, he has competed in dressage, show-jumping, eventing, and show horse, as well as attending various clinics, adult riders, regular lessons, trail rides, the beach, and even the blackwood marathon. Billy has had regular private lessons with Sophie Warren, in addition to occasional lessons with Les Bunning, Nell Henry, Lucinda Green, Portland Jones and Off The Track Clinics.
Although Billy has been primarily used as a competition horse, I have come to the conclusion that this is not an area that Billy is going to progress in, and he is not going to compete at the level I would like to. Due to my own study commitments and financial constraints, I have had to make the difficult decision to put Billy up for sale for a home where he would be better suited. Billy would ideally be suited to an experienced, confident, pleasure rider or low level competition home. Billy would be better suited to a home where there is not a focus on jumping or competition.
Billy has three well established paces. He often receives compliments on his conformation and paces. Billy is a sensitive horse, and requires a rider who is calm and soft with their hands. Billy is generally very rideable; however, he can become tense and overwhelmed at competitions and in competitive jumping environments. He has been to numerous dressage training days (indoors and outdoors), where he performs consistently and calmly. He is training lateral work and walk-canter transitions at home, and works quietly on the flat at adult riders. Billy enjoys ‘working equitation’ at adult riders, where he is happy to walk over bridges, play with lacrosse sticks and other similar activities. Billy is ridden in a snaffle, and is very responsive to all aids.
Billy has been an easy horse to manage, catch, shoe, float, worm and vaccinate. He self-loads into the float, maintains weight well and has been easy to camp with throughout the state. Billy does not need regular work, he has often had weeks off due to study commitments and can pick back where you left off. He is happy to go to lessons/trail rides/beach on his own, and has overall just been a very easy and reliable horse to have around.
Due to the difficult decision to sell Billy, please do not enquire if you are looking for an eventer or showjumper. Billy requires a quiet, confident, experienced rider, who would like a horse to enjoy and have fun with, without taking things too seriously.

Strong recommendation is given to print this advert if proceeding to sale/lease.
