 2010 polocrosse ASH awards

The Polocrosse Association of Western Australia has again been holding Australian Stock Horse awards during the main playing season from July to November. Without all the great horses we have this sport would not be played at the same level it is today. Australian Stock Horses (ASH) excel at this horse sport and in recognition of this the Australian Stock Horse Society has been offering awards to celebrate 5 different categories of horses; Open Men’s, Ladies and Juniors and Rookie Men’s and Ladies ASH’s. Clubs within the Mid-west, Central and Sothern Zones have assisted with offering the Awards throughout the season.

Cavalletti Classifieds was the main sponsors of the 2010 ASH Awards and was very pleased to support this uniquely Australian Sport.  Australian Stock Horses are hugely popular in Australia and Polocrosse is a fast exciting game displaying some exceptional horsemanship skills. There were beautiful green and gold sashes awarded to the tournament winners and garlands, champion sashes and rugs from the ASH Society for the overall winners.

So far the stand out contestant for the Open Men’s horse sashes is Aiden Thurkle from Walkaway Polocrosse club with two Open Men’s Australian Stock Horses ‘Jindalee Fusion’ and ‘Berragoon Sin’. Jindalee Fusion won the Open Men’s ASH at both Walkaway and Moonyoonooka Tournaments and Berragoon Sin won the Irwin and Greenough Tournaments.

Luke Puglia From Moonyoonooka Polocrosse Club took out the best juniors ASH award at Walkaway on Ringwood Lincon earlier this year.

Jodi Tiver from Foothills polocrosse club in Serpentine has been hotly contesting the Ladies ASH awards with her mares Kelly Fraiser and Stoneage Giggle.
