Description

BAYLAUREL WHISKEY- Whiskey is a 9-year-old OTT (DOB 4/9/2015) gelding, officially measure at 15.3 ¾hh . He has successfully competed showjumping up to 1m and novice level dressage. Whiskey is training elementary movements (shoulder in, travers, walk canter etc) and has consistent clean showjumping flying changings. He has trained up to 80cm cross country but I feel like he is more confident and suited to showjumping rather than eventing. With time his confidence on XC would improve (more the atmosphere of XC than the actual jumps that needs to be improved with patience). Whiskey is clean when jumping and is becoming quite a competitive mount with a speedy jump off. He is base EA registered, holds an OTT passport and was only very lightly raced. He has been off the track 3 years and spent much time in the paddock prior to his last race prep due to his owner trainer being FIFO. No known past or present injuries. He has been recently scoped (happy to discuss with purchaser and he has undergone treatment for mild ulcers ) and currently clipped, shod (although has been barefoot for past 2 years prior to recent shoeing). Teeth done 6/2/25 and he is currently floated in an angle load float.

Whiskey has had multiple wins and places in dressage and showjumping and been on the competition circuit for more than 2.5 years including attended Pony Club and EA state events. He has attended pony club, a stock horse youth camp, Ag shows, many long-distance trips away, combined training series, multiple local events and many show jumping clinics and dressage lessons. He spent some time spelling last year while his rider worked overseas with Pippa Funnel. A highlight for Whiskey was 2023 PCA National Championships being part of the WA team and placing both individually and team overall and being selected in the 2024 PCIA International Virtual Dressage representing Australia in the PDD. He is jumping confidently 90/95cm and has started 1m in competition recently. He consistently scores over 63% in novice with scores well above 65%

Whiskey is an extremely balanced and athletic type of TB and forward moving. He is very talented and has potential to go up the heights but needs a competent rider who will slowly further his education for him to reach his full potential. He needs a confident capable rider as he can be quirky and typical OTT challenging at times. He flats and jumps in an ultra-comfy Bombers snaffle bit (hes is not strong nor pull) and goes well in a hidz hood for jumping. He has been educated and ridden by a very experienced and capable young lady rider. Whiskey has been very well loved during his OTT education with us and getting the right home is a priority.
