QH X All Rounder / Project who loves to jump

POA

Description

EOI at this stage  - in no rush to sell as perfect home is important 👑

QH / Appaloosa (no longer have his reg papers but born April 2016) my chunky boy is chilled to do most things with. Happy hacker and more woah than go, but does get going with the right rider!  Has been ridden consistently 3-5 times per week for the past 2 years, mostly hacking around 25 acres amongst kangaroos, dogs, sheep and alpacas not a lot phases him.

Frequently practiced flatwork in different environments, poles and barrels and with a PoloX ball and racket,  with or without other horses he doesn’t care.  Quiet and relaxed in windy weather, chickens and kids running around you name it he doesn’t spook.

Has been taken out to Darling Downs, camped at Quinndanning Picnic Races and completed all gymkhana games, pole work clinics at Kyamba lodge. He would benefit from being taken out more for more exposure and going out solo without his pals. not been to the beach as far as I know. He does call out for friends the first 10 minutes upon arrival but soon settles down.

Often ridden bitless, I rode for 3 months and jumped in just a halter and you wouldn’t know any difference. He has excellent brakes.  Often ridden bareback, tackles he is chilled with me jumping on and off his back.

He loves to jump and is yet to refuse anything, bold scopey jump  up to 70cm so far but would go well up the heights or cross country with someone super confident.  Takes confidence from his rider to get going but has happily plodded around with complete beginners and nervous riders where he happily will plod along all day.

Loves people, kids and any sort of attention. First to the gate and follows the car as we leave.

Excellent for vet,  body worker, chiropractor, teeth and farrier (all up to date) currently barefoot. Easy keeper on any sort of hay and doesn’t need a hard feed each day. He goes better in consistent work. Great on the trail with other horses, I’ve never taken him off property solo but we ride alone in  large bushland several times a week, next to a main road and dog kennel.

Cons:
Typical Appaloosa he does have his stubborn days.
Can be lazy or try and get out of hard work if he senses a nervous rider.
Sometimes will ‘nap’ at entry to arena / gate but easily moved forwards with no buck bolt or rear (backs up or plants feet but soon gets over it).
Chunky and gets overweight if not in consistent work. I got him as a paddock puff and have built his strength up.
Mid to top of the herd in rank, will boss smaller ponies off their feed buckets.
Has random days where he takes longer to load on the float, other days he strolls on no problem 😅

I truly  believe with the right confident rider he will excel in any discipline, farm plod, cattle work, barrels, poloX, showjumping. He will  require more work for a dressage home on his straightness and contact on the bit.

He also knows liberty if you know how to do that (lays down on command etc I have videos of this)

Genuine personal reasons for sale through zero fault of his own. We adore this horse but is / will be wasted on me Due to soon changing circumstances .
Vet checks more than welcome.

I have heaps of ridden and ground videos of this cool dude! 🐴⭐️⭐️💚 message for more info.
