Imponente or “Benny”
4yr old TB gelding standing at a Smidge under 18hh (last measured over 17.3hh approx and has just come out of another growth spurt) going to be a big , solid boy once he has fully matured!
Benny trialed but never raced after proving much too slow before coming to us where he had a good spell and commenced his education away from the track.
His first ever ride after his spell was bareback in a halter (after I pushed him up against the gate to step on 🫣) He is Mr Chill 😎 never required any lunging prior to stepping on after time off
Benny has had a lot of time spent on teaching him to use his body correctly, being such a big horse and has a solid foundation. He has been taught to leg yield, side pass, walk to canter, step his hip up when asked , fore quarter and hind quarter turns also established with a reining spin thrown in for good measure!
He will neck rein when cruising out across the paddock and LOVES his stops! (Will stop off voice and seat aids)
An absolute pleasure to teach new things, he aims to Please and once he understands something will retain it and try his best to do it for you.
He has attended multiple clinics and isn’t fazed if he is taken away to an event with a buddy or alone.
Currently jumping around 70cms due to his height & age but now he has turned 4yrs old , is ready to step it up in this area for those interested.
I think Benny would thrive in eventing! He is very honest and bold over scary objects
This horse has a heap of potential for those interested in going up the levels but with his kind , can do nature would be just as happy attending adult riders, natural horsemanship lessons or cruising along down the trials on the buckle 🩷
Gem to catch , wash, tie up (no fussing about or pull back) load on the truck/float, rug, worm and trim feet.
Benny has great ground manners , very respectful of your personal space.
Unfortunately due to us relocating to be closer to campdrafting events I am finding I no longer have the time to relive my younger days competing in showjumping and although he loves working on cattle! Is a touch too tall for me to sneak him on the truck to go drafting.
Please do not enquire if you cannot provide the very best of homes, this horse is extremely special to me and will not be going to anyone who cannot provide him the home he deserves. If you’re looking for a kind, willing and honest horse with the right amount of character/dorkyness to keep you amused that really loves people I would be keen to chat further.
