🟤 About Flick
Flick is an eye-catching, soft-moving mare with a naturally balanced frame. She has been in and out of regular work due to owner injury and life circumstances, and is currently undergoing a refresher program with Catherine Anderson (North Dandalup).
She was lightly shown as a 2yo at a major Welsh youngstock show in Perth—her first-ever float trip—and came home Reserve Champion, demonstrating her quality and trainability.
🤎 Temperament & Suitability
Flick is genuine with no bite, kick or nasties. She is more “woah” than “go” by nature but can be a little unsure without a confident rider. She thrives with calm, consistent handling and would suit:
✔ An adult rider
✔ Or a very experienced teen wanting a Welsh D with potential to bring on
✔ Someone looking for a future performance/breed show mare
✔ A home able to provide regular work and exposure

She is:
• Good with the vet and farrier
• Rugged and paddocked with other horses (currently with a Shetland, a Quarter Horse & two sheep)
• A good doer / easy keeper

• Enjoys trail rides with other horses
• Recently completed float refresher training (prefers angle loads but currently travelling on a straight load)
• Calm and sensible when handled in new environments
• Easy to handle – you can rug her in the dark wearing thongs and PJ's and she won’t blink, especially when it's a routine she is used to.
• Catchable with food/carrots; otherwise can present with the classic Welsh Cob opinions when you arrive in your riding pants in a big paddock!

🟢 Breeding Notes
Flick has not yet had a foal. We had intended to breed her if we kept her. She comes from a strong mare line known for fertility and good temperament, making her an appealing broodmare prospect for the future.
🔍 Why She’s Offered for Sale
This is a reluctant and thoughtful sale. Due to ongoing owner injury and changing circumstances, Flick has not had the consistent work she deserves. We have made the difficult decision to offer her to a home that can enjoy her properly, continue her education, and showcase her as the beautiful mare she is.
Home will not be compromised.
If the right home is not found, she will stay with us and continue training with Catherine Anderson until she is ready.
