He was registered as a part Waler but I didn’t keep up the registration.
This is a very hard decision. I got Nelson as an unstarted 3yo so I’ve had him a long time. Started by Sam Caporn.
Unfortunately Nelson has gone to waste here as he has been out of work the past 5 years while I had small children on little ponies. As I have discovered I just don’t have the time to bring him back into regular work as a busy mum of two. Nelson is the kind of horse that needs to be in constant work but is a dream when he is.
An experienced rider/training could work wonders with Nelson as he is an extremely intelligent horse and learns very quickly. He is quite sensitive and likes to be in charge. He is king of the herd and will pull the wool over your eyes if you give him the chance.
He has a lovely elevated trot and a beautiful canter (like a rocking chair). He’s not particularly fast but he can pivot on a dime on his forequarters. He’d likely excel at reining or something similar. He hasn’t done cattle work but he’d likely have good instincts in that area too.
I just want to see him reach his full potential with someone great as he is a beautiful horse and I love him dearly. But I can’t give him what he needs.
