Description
Luca is a stunning mare with real presence. She is great at liberty work. She has learnt to circle around me at walk, trot and canter at different distances, walk backwards around me, jump barrels and recall from anywhere in the arena and stand on a marker. Luca has also had bit-less training and been out trail riding bit-less, with other horses.
Luca is good for the farrier and floats well, however if she senses a lack of confidence in her handler, she is quick to take advantage.
This is a very difficult sale and Luca will only go to the best of homes. It has taken me 4 years to finally accept she needs an experienced, confident rider (which I am not).
Recently Luca has been out and about doing dressage, showjumping and cross country with a young confident rider, and has proven to be willing and brave.
This year Luca participated in EWA regional clinics in dressage and show jumping in both Margaret River and Capel. She also did well in a cross country training day at Busselton and participated in the Capel One Day event, where she jumped clear in the show jumping round at 70cm. In training, Luca has comfortably been jumping 90cm.
Being this is her first year going out to shows and events, Luca is still green and has the potential to develop in a range of areas, depending on the interests of her new owner.
Luca does not have any vices but can be strong and reactive and inconsistent in contact.
