Looloo is a beautiful, kind and genuine 11 year old grey mare, approximately 15hh, German Riding Pony x Warmblood.
SHE IS NOT SUITED TO A YOUNG, INEXPERIENCED OR NEEVOUS RIDER
While I trust Looloo around anyone and anything with my whole heart, she does have a few little quirks that come from being out of consistent work and she needs a confident rider who is happy to put the time and energy into getting her back to her best.
When she knows she is going to be doing groundwork or arena work, she can be a little fresh yet, she is completely different out trail riding she absolutely loves trail rides, is much more relaxed, enjoys getting out and about and loves attention from people.
She does need to be encouraged forward when asking for canter, she can do a very small little hop and needs a rider who is confident enough to push her through it. Sometimes she will hold her head high and play with the bit. These are little quirks that I believe are largely from her lack of consistent work rather than who she is as a horse. She benefits from someone with soft hands and would probably benefit from being bit less but we haven’t tried.
I have had Looloo when she was in her best condition and in consistent work, and she was an absolute pleasure to ride. She has the ability to be a lovely, enjoyable ride when she is fit, consistent and has a routine.
She is also exceptional on the ground. Her groundwork is one of her strongest qualities she listens, stays out of your space, responds beautifully to commands and lunges extremely well. She is respectful without being difficult and is lovely to handle.
Despite needing an experienced rider, I genuinely trust this mare with my whole heart. My partner has no riding experience, and I have allowed him to get on her because I trust her so much. She simply plodded around with him.
She has never bitten, bucked, kicked or reared and has no history of nastiness. She is a genuinely kind horse who loves attention and being around people.
What I am looking for
I am specifically looking for a quiet, relaxed and loving home for Looloo. I am not looking for a jumping home and I don’t want her pushed into being something she isn’t. This is because she simply has not enjoyed jumping not because of any health issues.
I think she would be happiest with someone who wants a horse to enjoy, spend time with, trail ride, do groundwork with and build a genuine partnership with.
Health
- No history of colic
- No health issues at all
- No history of laminitis
- Black undercoat so no sunburn
- Had her teeth done just recently
- Has her feet done every 5 weeks, she is barefoot
Looloo is a fast learner and I truly believe she will come back into herself beautifully with consistent work. She doesn’t need someone to “fix” her she needs someone to give her the time, routine, confidence and work that she hasn’t had recently.
She is a beautiful, incredibly kind mare with so much potential, and I would love to see her go to someone who will appreciate her for who she is and give her the relaxed, loving home she deserves.
