Books is a well put together, talented Thoroughbred with plenty of potential for someone looking for a quality project to produce through the eventing or jumping ranks.

I got Books over a year ago after he finished racing. Since then, he has had a good break, been brought back into work, attended a few outings and has been enjoying another break since April.

Books has lovely movement, is careful and has a nice jump. He has been out XC training and was super brave, he has also been into the indoor at SEC where he handled himself really well & he has been to 3x events where he was a bit stressy.

He is a sensitive, stressy type and does best in a property environment with multiple horses around him rather than only one or two companions. When anxious, Books can become reactive, so having an experienced handler who understands Thoroughbreds and can give him the time and consistency he needs is important. Happy to discuss his temperament in more detail with genuinely interested buyers.

I purchased Books with the intention of continuing his eventing career and, under different circumstances, I would absolutely be continuing on with him. However, with being pregnant, I don’t see myself being able to ride a horse of Books’ type for quite some time once I return to riding.

Books is NOT suited to nervous, inexperienced or intermediate riders. He requires an experienced rider with a solid understanding of OTTBs, confidence on the ground and under saddle, and the time to put into developing him.

He has so much to offer the right person and I would love to see him go to a knowledgeable home where his potential can be continued.
