For Sale – Ocean Jetset (“Jet”)

15.2hh, rising 13yo Stock Horse Gelding

Jet is an absolute delight with impeccable ground manners. He loves the company of other horses but is equally content on his own. This is a very sad sale, as Jet is simply not suited to the young rider he was purchased for.

Jet has been an absolute pleasure to ride in every way, but please consider his two vices to make sure they won’t be an issue for you:

• Jet must travel in an angle-load float.

• Jet does have a spook, where he may drop a shoulder and whip to the right. This can occur if he is out trail riding on his own, (he has done it twice since being with me for a few weeks) While it hasn’t unseated me, it could catch out a nervous or inexperienced rider.

I have recently brought Jet back into work and he has proven to be a pleasure. I’ve ridden him alone around my property, through creeks, sinky mud, and wide open spaces. He can be a little looky when by himself, but with a confident rider he settles well. Great to ride out with others and happy to travel behind, but will also lead (just a little looky) Jet is definitely more “whoa” than “go,” making him a relaxed ride in most situations.

With his previous owner Jet has competed successfully at low-level eventing, including a 1st place result, stockhorse challenges, showjumping, dressage, liberty, adult riders and pony club.

Jet has a beautiful, soft canter—his strongest pace—with a lovely rollback into canter. When he switches into “work mode,” he really focuses, which makes me feel he would excel with someone wanting to do stock work, while still being enjoyable for adult riders and trail rides with friends.

He is up to date with teeth, has had recent bodywork, has excellent feet, and does not require shoes.

If his spook concerns you, Jet may not be the right horse for you. However, for the right rider, he will make a truly rewarding and versatile partner.
