Like most horses for sale, this is a super hard decision that has taken me a year to do as I never thought I would do this.
Oakley is the sweetest horse and deserves all the love and attention in the world, and I cannot give him this and will be getting out of horses. Price is negotiable but 5 star home is not.
Dressage to Novice Level. Suit a confident teen or an adult rider. I think he would be a good horse for a teen stepping up from ponies.
He is not for beginners. He is a sensitive soul and can be spooky (nothing bad) and takes confidence from riders. He was great at jumping years ago, bit too spooky for eventing XC but has done a little bit. I believe he will be perfectly fine for low level Show jumping but I have not jumped him in years.
He always aims to please, he wants to do the right thing and does not have a nasty bone in his body, he has perfect manners at home and at comps/outings.
He is a straight forward, gets compliments everywhere he goes.
He has been out lots to pony club/adult riders, Transitions and dressage comps, always scoring well. He knows it is show time and is just as good out and about as he is at home provided you ride confident and forward.
He floats perfectly in an angle and almost self loads. Perfect for the farrier, and easy to give meds/worming etc.
He thrives and requires consistent work, he may be 17 years old but will not be slowing down anytime soon.
The bad: diagnosed with kissing spine November 2024. Vet has advised he is very happy for him to continue and has plenty of years left in him but requires consistent work, great if you love polework!
