Willow unfortunately had a diagnosis of proximal suspensory desmitis from her previous owner and I'd purchased her as a rehab project. Unfortunately my vet, following another full work up has concluded that surgery would be the only worthwhile treatment option and it is not something I wish to pursue at this stage. Happy to pass all vet notes, images and scans through to those interested. She is at present paddock sound.
Prior to her diagnosis with her previous owner, Willow evented and did pony club. The ultimate kids horse with her laid back attitude. Easy to handle doesn't even cover it for Willow. Since I've had her she has taken everything in her stride, including many uncomfortable diagnositics, kids, bikes, dogs, lawn mowers - she's unflappable. She has gotten well used to my crutches and wheelchair, and leads with both politely. Good to clip, and wash - will stand for hours being fussed over. Good to catch and stand tied (I don't hard tie but she hasn't once pulled back even with pressure). Can take a moment to load but is an excellent traveller (both straight load and angle).
Willow has been given the all clear to be a broodmare or paddock companion. I unfortunately cannot keep her due to my other horse sustaining a head injury, said horse has become aggressive towards her and being on smaller acerage all our paddocks are adjoining. Her teeth are UTD and not due until October 2025, has recently been sand drenched with x-rays to ensure no sand burden. She is pony blood so I mange her weight with low sugar hay.
I cannot rate this mare highly enough, she will be an asset to anyone wanting to breed performance ponies. This is a hard sale, I'd very much hoped to get Willow back undersaddle or use her myself as broodmare but she deserves to have friends and not isolated due to no fault of her own.
