Description

REDLEAF HOLLAND STAR (“Squishy”)
💫 Flashy, eye-catching bay warmblood gelding, 15.3hh, 6 years old

By Cinsey (Contendro I) out of Holland Rose (Quidam de Revel)

From Redleaf Stud in Sydney — currently in Perth, WA

This horse truly suits his name! Squishy is a total cuddler who loves his person, stands for endless snuggles and is basically a big Labrador in the paddock and around the stables.

Currently confidently competing 1m with many clear rounds and is schooling courses of 1.20–1.25m at home from any distance without putting a foot wrong.
Super adjustable, careful and scopey, he feels like he’ll easily jump a much bigger fence in the future, and has never spooked or said no to a jump.

By Cinsey — the best Hanoverian horse of his age group at the Bundeschampionship, known for his striking athleticism, elasticity and clever, first-class performance type. Out of Holland Rose, by France’s top broodmare sire Quidam de Revel, from one of the best dam lines in Europe — making Squishy a sibling of Copabella Voltage, who had notable success at Grand Prix level. His breeding really shows: the jump, the attitude and the movement are all there.

Has competed a couple Novice dressage tests with very good scores and great comments from judges about his type and movement. He’s also been cross country schooled where he proved extremely bold and brave — never spooking or stopping. He’d make a very fun and competitive eventer too!

Easy to float (straight or angle), travels on trucks in any spot, loves trail riding and the beach. Genuinely very quiet out on trails— has been cantered in front and behind by less experienced riders out in the bush and stayed very quiet. He’s fantastic to handle, great to have at shows, and just loves being around people.

Up to date with farrier, dentist, bodywork etc. Very low maintenance: an extremely good doer who keeps weight on with barely any feed and has really nice feet — currently goes well barefoot behind and could likely go barefoot all round. Vet checked last year with X-rays available; recent physio and chiropractor checks found him 100% with no sore points. He’s tough and sound.

‼️Full transparency: Squishy did have a period with me where he could get a bit silly after a fence. He hasn’t done it in over a month and with his current rider he couldn’t be going better — we honestly doubt he would try it again. I was too soft and let him get away with it once, and he got me off. I want anyone enquiring to know he’s best suited to a confident, capable rider so he doesn’t take the mickey and can reach his full potential.

I’m out of the saddle for the foreseeable future and this is a very hard sale of a horse I absolutely love and believe has a huge future ahead of him. If I don’t find the right person, I won’t sell him and will happily keep him to compete next year.

Squishy really does tick all the boxes: exceptional breeding, temperament, trainability, carefulness and scope to jump big fences in the future. Whether for show jumping, eventing or dressage, he’s got all the right ingredients and the best personality to match!

Priced to sell as I’m out of action!
