I purchased sprite back in October last year. She was previously owned by a family and ridden by a younger girl however was moved on due to being too green. In the time that I have had her she has been to multiple outings off the property including: lessons, show jump training days, dressage days and XC schooling. She is regularly ridden off property at a local arena/riding area near us. She has completed training rounds up to 50cm successfully going around courses and participated in a prelim dressage test. Sprite is more woah then go at home however when off property she can become very excitable in warm up areas. I believe with more exposure this will change. I am happy to discuss this in more detail with people who are genuinely interested. Once away from the other horses at a competition she does settle, she has never played up going around a course. She can be ridden at home with multiple other horses in the arena with no issues. She is a generally quiet ride at home but will buck when not in consistent work or spooked. I have been focusing on lots of ground work with her, she is easy to deal with at home but can become pushy when in new environments so needs a handler that is confident to guide her through this. She is currently in light work. She has basics established on the flat however is not yet consistently working in a frame, this will come with time. Snaffle mouth, no bolt. Sprite has lovely confirmation and is a very sweet and inquisitive girl. She would benefit from being an only horse or someone who has more time. Sprite is happy to be ridden by herself away from her paddock mates. She is use to sheep, bikes and machinery. Sprite is perfect for the farrier, she is currently bare foot and has never had any soundness issues in the time that I’ve owned her. Sprite ties, and is happy to stand around patiently with a hay net however she doesn’t like to be fussed over once given her hard feed. She Isn’t a typical mare, I’ve never heard her squeal or frantically call to others. With an experienced rider I believe she would make a lovely all rounder/eventer.
Only reason for sale is because I have 5 horse in work and a full time job. I believe Sprite is at the stage where she would benefit from someone who can offer her more time.
Asking 2500 neg a loving, knowledgeable and long term home is most important to me. She is still a green thoroughbred and will only be offered to experienced riders.
