Hi everyone
Im sadly looking to find the right person for our little Mare, Penny, who came to us more as a rescue with a foal at foot.
Penny has been aged at 6 years old by our vet and stands unofficially at 12.2hh.
Penny came from the Pinjarra herd, she didn’t come from the easiest start, and I’m really hoping someone who has the time can get her going as we put a lot of time into her and have slowly earned her trust.
Since weaning her foal, she’s become more of a handful—clever, strong-willed, and in need of consistent handling and the right education. That said, she has been led around with my young son on her back and is easy to saddle and bridle. However, She hasn’t been mouthed or backed properly and will need to be started by someone experienced.
She’s up to date with everything:
✔️ Teeth done
✔️ Feet trimmed
✔️ Fully vaccinated
✔️ Recently drenched
I had plans to bring her on as a future pony club pony, as she’s got the presence and movement for it. But my son has completely fallen in love with her foal, and with three other rescues in our care, I can’t give this mare the time she needs and deserves.
She’s not a novice ride or an easy project, but in the right hands, she has real potential. Penny has a huge trot and has flown over jumps from the lead.
I’m not bothered about her price as I am very negotiable — the home is not. She needs someone experienced, kind, and committed to helping her grow, Penny needs a best friend!
