Happy
- 15.2hh, standardbred Gelding
- 13 years young.
I have owned Happy since April 2023. Sadly our bond together is not like it used to be and we are no longer gelling but the poor dude is getting bored being a paddock puff and prefers to be in work.
Happy has a lovely trott on both reins, its super comfy and not bouncy like many standys. He canters in the arena on both reins, though sometimes struggles getting the correct lead on the right rein.
Keep in mind that if you are unbalanced then he will be too and will pace, also sometimes it can take him a moment to figure out where his feet are supposed to go.
Happy absolutely loves his trails and travels so well with other horses and can go alone if his rider is confident though he becomes very forward and excited when alone. I would prefer happy to go to a lovely trail home as this is where he is happiest.
Happy has recently shown he enjoys jumping but it does get him excited and forward also and its not ideal on his ex race horse body.
I have recently had him scoped for ulcers, he showed clear but i still treated him regardless.
i have also just had his hocks xrayed and showed all clear.
He requires a strong and confident rider, I am too nervous and he senses it in me.
Happys biggest issue is that he can spook, these are not dangerous spooks and are easily sit able but they do catch you off guard sometimes.
This horse is an angel and will take care of his rider always, sadly we are just not suited anymore, though he was my confidence booster for a very long time.
im hoping to find him a relaxed home where he can enjoy trail rides and have horse friends with him
ive noticed that busy agistment's arent his favourite and he prefers to be paddocked with friends.
Hes an easy going horse, easy to float, rug, farrier and groom.
has no buck, bolt, rear, kick or bite.
Vet checks welcome
ill be picky about homes for this boy.
