Description
Eric is a beautifully bred thoroughbred who retired from a very successful racing career in January 2024. He then travelled to Augusta to try and be a polo crosse pony where he failed spectacularly, turns out he wasn’t fast enough. I took Eric on at the end of April, focusing on his strength and balance with flat work and poles. Eric is not spooky at all and I do genuinely think with some more hours under his belt he will make a great adult riders pony. However he is sensitive and does get stressed in new environments when around a lot of horses so he is not there yet. He has absolutely no dirt at all, but can get fizzy when anxious. For this reason Eric would be better suited to an experienced teen or confident adult as he still needs a rider to draw confidence from in new settings.
My passion is dressage and so he has only faced poles and small crosses however has never stoped or even looked at them. So has potential to show jump or event if that was your passion. He is starting to hold a consistent frame and has began some small lateral work.
Unfortunately I had a fall from a baby warmblood in August and badly broke my ankle, this resulted in Eric having nearly 4 months off, I am now back in the saddle, and to Eric’s testimate he was the horse I picked to get back on first. However with my ankle recovery I have to accept that I now have limitations and not in a position to continue to develop his education to the best of his ability. In saying this I have brought him back into work and he will remain there until sold. Price may increase as he gains more exposure.
Eric stand approximately 15.2hh tall and does have front shoes on. Up to date with teeth and can provide most recent records. Vet checks welcome at buyers expense.
This is a very hard sale where home is the most important thing.
