DONNY – 16.2hh Bay Gelding | 13yo 🐴🤎
Posting my beautiful boy Donny – this isn’t an easy sale and have been on/off posting, so please read the full add and no time wasters.
Donny is a 13 year old bay gelding standing at 16.2hh. He has had various riders from beginners, through to experienced, however he is only being sold to a confident, experienced rider and home. He has all the buttons there and adjusts to the rider but needs an experienced rider to get the full potential out of him. He has been a confidence builder for a young rider, helping her step up to higher jumping heights and improve her confidence, which has been amazing to watch.
Donny’s been to show jumping days up to 80cm, hacking, dressage days & cross country training. He’s jumped cross country at Oakford jump cross and absolutely loved it – he can be a bit forward. He’s been to lots of jump training days and has proven he loves to jump, he’s a bit of an “over achiever” so has potential to go far.
You can take him off property and have a great ride and jump like he’s been there 1000 times, by himself or with others.
Donny’s only real cons is he can get anxious in the warm-up ring if the rider is tense. He can also be spooky at times (not all the time), but again manageable with the right rider to hold his hand as he is a sensitive soul. He can be paddocked alone or with others but he is “food protective” at dinner time with other horses around.
Overall Donny is a fun, genuine horse with plenty to offer and a big personality to match.
Donny absolutely loves the beach. Swimming and trotting through the water and even double dinkies. He is very responsive and has had beginners and nervous riders on him at the beach, even with dogs running around and up his 🍑 and he’s been great.
-Self loads on angle and straight load float & self ties.
- Good for farrier and worming.
- No vices / no wind sucking.
- Loves being fussed over.
-My non-horsey partner can catch,rug, feed, wash, lunge ect with him.
Donny can come with his bridle bit, his wardrobe, halter, fly boots, exercise boots and more for an additional price.
He is currently in light work, and viewings will be on a week on/off basis due to a FIFO roster. Please no time wasters / no trials. Best of homes is an absolute must – this is a very hard sale. Please message for more info. I have plenty of videos/photos for serious buyers.
📍Donny is located in Serpentine. I’m in no rush to sell and if I can’t find the right home, he’ll be staying with me.
