All-Rounder Pony
Kody is a well-educated, brave,
and reliable all-rounder pony who has seen and done it all. We have owned Kody
since September 2023, and while their partnership has had its share of highs
and lows—as any great learning journey does—he has ultimately been an
exceptional partner, taking his current rider through many major milestones. He
is sadly for sale only because his rider has outgrown him, and it is time for
him to find his next lucky partner.
Please Note: His price has been
reduced as he is no longer being ridden competitively and is currently only in
light work. We are motivated to find him an active home where he will have a
job and a routine, as he loves being a part of things and will get bored
without regular attention.
Recent Performance &
Highlights
·
2025 PCWA Leaderboard Series Winner: Eventing
45cm.
·
Consistent Eventing Success: Competed
successfully throughout our ownership.
·
Brave Jumper: Pops over whatever you face him
at; a true confidence builder in the jumping arena and over cross-country
obstacles.
Experience & Versatility
Kody has an extensive resume
across the WA equestrian scene. Prior to joining us, he qualified for the Perth
Royal Show, was runner-up on the Swan River Dressage Leaderboard, and
frequented venues like Brookleigh, SEC, Wallangara, Magenup, Serpentine, and
Murray.
During his time with us, we have
traveled him extensively to compete in eventing at Gidgiegannup, Kellerberrin,
Northam, Goomalling, and of course, Moora.
My daughter regularly rides him
out and about on his own without any issues. He is very inquisitive and is
unfazed by ride-on mowers, motorbikes, or tractors. More often than not, he
gets in the way just to see what you are doing!
Temperament & Management
Kody is a professional on the
ground—easy to plait, clip, worm, and lead, and great for the farrier and
dentist (though he can be a little nippy when being saddled up). He floats
beautifully and stands patiently at the float for hours.
·
Riding Style: While well-educated, Kody does
have a couple of quirks and can buck or pigroot when he feels frustrated or if
the rider is unbalanced.
·
Health & Diet: Kody has been diagnosed with
EMS (Equine Metabolic Syndrome), and his reduced price reflects this. It is
easily managed with a consistent diet. He is currently thriving on Kohnke’s Own
Trim and Fabby, Rhodes chaff, and T&R Lupin Fibre Boost.
·
Feeding: He receives ad-lib soaked wheaten hay
at home (as we grow our own). He is not a fussy eater and readily eats Rhodes,
meadow, or teff hay when traveling or at competitions.
He is kept barefoot with good,
strong feet and is completely up to date on all health requirements (teeth,
worming, and hoof care).
Suitability & Sale Terms
Kody is best suited as a second or
third pony for a confident young rider or a small, capable adult. Finding the
perfect, active home is our absolute priority, so the price may be negotiable
for the right match.
