Luana Park Dressage Competition Training

We all know competition environments can be very intimidating for both a horse and rider, especially when you are at the beginning of your journey.

Luana Park is giving you the opportunity to “practice” a real life dressage competition, in a welcoming environment, without the pressure of a competitive event.

The main objective is to create a safe, welcoming environment for green horses, fresh riders and new combinations who would like to have a go at something outside home, without the high energy.
It is also a great opportunity to ride a test, receive feedback and work on improvements before the competition season begins.

EVENT DETAILS:
The event will run as follows on the day;
• Enter the arena at your allocated time. Take the opportunity to walk around and warm up before ridding your test. Arena familiarization 2 min max.
• After the judge has sounded the bell, begin ridding your test which will be judged and marked,
• On completion, the judge will invite you over to share some feedback on your ride (2 mins max).

Each person will then have the opportunity to RE-RIDE the test again to improve from feedback given.
Alternatively, riders my ride a different test and seek additional feedback.

Please note: whether you are riding a new test, or the same test again, you will be charged $35 per test.

ATTIRE:
Competition attire highly encouraged, but not mandatory.
Long sleeve shirts and white/cream jodhpurs/breeches preferred. Jackets optional.
Plaiting optional.

PRIZES:
Ribbons for places 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Ribbons will also be awarded to the “Most improved” rider in each class and an overall “Best Presented”.
