Harley, 17hh (high and wide), 13yo STB
For sale through no fault of her own and a very tough add to write but hoping to reach the right person for this gentle giant. I have come to terms with cutting back on the horses for the time being to set myself up for my future life. I believe Harley will suit a more laid back lifestyle, ideally on a farm, possibly for an adult rider mount. She is soft to the halter, great to handle and loads on the float with a bit of patience. I would say she doesn’t particularly enjoy arena work she would rather stand on the side and look pretty while eating grass. Jumping is all much too effort and any other horse that comes within a 20m vicinity of her will get a mare stare. While she does have a sassy, girl boss attitude she has a gentle side to her and will stand to be brushed and hosed all day. She is my go to mount for chucking other riders on for a group ride and can be pulled out of the paddock without being in work and jump on bareback.
She is the most beautifully built standardbred I have ever come across, at adult riders she got many compliments and people asking if she was a warmblood. I am sure she would scrub up nicely for hacking or in hand shows too due to her appearance.
In a herd Harley has always been a dominant mare. She will require safe fencing to avoid injury when she swings her bum around and cow kicks at other horses. In saying this she is genuinely too fat to make the effort to actually cause harm to another horse. She is currently paddocked with my 7yo OTTB and as annoying as he is one glance appears to keep him in line, so she could serve a purpose as a m nanny horse!
I am in no rush to sell and happy to share more of her history with people genuinely interested and ready to buy. Preference will be given to someone who can offer her a forever home.
