If you're looking for a genuinely kind little first-ridden pony, Suga is something very special.
Suga is an exceptionally gentle, sweet and trustworthy little mare who has been one of our most treasured children's ponies.
She is the type of pony where butter wouldn't melt in her mouth — incredibly gentle around children, affectionate, patient and easy to have around.
But she isn't just a lead-rein plod.
Suga is a genuine first ridden who will happily walk, trot and canter, has all her buttons and is responsive and fun for a child to ride. She can be zippy enough to keep things enjoyable while remaining sensible and forgiving with her little riders.
She has extensive experience teaching children through our riding school, including beginner lessons, Tiny Tots and children's pony parties.
Children can ride her, lead her, groom her and fuss over her. She is very accustomed to little people and has helped many children develop their confidence and independence around ponies.
She is currently in full work, with her workload always carefully managed and capped at a maximum of six lessons per week.
HEALTH & MANAGEMENT
Suga has a history of laminitis, which has been successfully stabilised through careful dietary and weight management.
She is currently in work and doing well under her established management regime. Her new family will need to understand the needs of a laminitis-prone pony and continue appropriate management of her diet, weight and grazing.
We are completely transparent about her history because the quality of Suga's future home is extremely important to us.
She is up to date with her regular care.
